Why this site exists
Local business owners are drowning in repetitive work. Email follow-ups, invoice chasing, appointment reminders, social posting, data entry — tasks that don't grow the business but eat whole days.
Meanwhile, AI and automation tools have become so capable that most of this work can now run automatically for $15–50 per month. But the information about these tools is written for enterprise IT departments, not a restaurant owner or a plumber trying to get their evenings back. AutomatedLocalBiz closes that gap.
Who's behind the reviews
AutomatedLocalBiz is run by a small, independent editorial team with hands-on backgrounds in workflow automation, small-business operations, and software reviewing. Between us we've built automations in Zapier, Make, n8n, and HubSpot for real local businesses — salons, trades, e-commerce shops, and professional services.
Every review and guide on this site is written or edited by a person who has actually used the tool in question. We are not a content farm and we don't publish AI-generated filler. When you read a verdict here, it comes from someone who set the tool up, ran it on a real workflow, and hit the same walls you would.
How we test tools
Our reviews follow a consistent, repeatable process so you can trust that comparisons are fair:
- Real workflows, not demos. We rebuild common local-business automations — lead follow-up, review requests, invoicing, scheduling — inside each tool.
- Multi-week use. We run tools for weeks, not minutes, so reliability and hidden limits surface before we publish.
- True total cost. We document real pricing including the task/operation limits that quietly push you to a higher tier.
- Beginner lens. We note where a non-technical owner would get stuck, because that's who this site is for.
- Ongoing updates. When a tool changes pricing, features, or quality, we update the article — and downgrade it if it no longer deserves a recommendation.
How this site makes money
To be completely transparent about our business model: AutomatedLocalBiz is a free, independent content site. We do not sell our own software, courses, or consulting. We make money through affiliate commissions — when you buy a tool through some of our links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
This never changes our verdicts. We recommend tools that won independently in our testing, including free and open-source options that pay us nothing. Where an article contains affiliate links, we disclose it clearly. You can read our full affiliate disclosure for details.
